The PROMISED MESSIAH (the CHRIST): “We have found the Messiah” (Jn 1:41). The promised Messiah is the creator of all (Ps 102:25-27; Jn 1:3; Heb 1:10-12). He is declared to be the Son of God (Ps 2:7; Lk 1:31-35; Mt 3:16-17; Heb 1:5-6), and was to call God His Father (Ps 89:26; Mt 11:27). Indeed, the “begotten” Son is very God Himself (Ps 45:6-7; Heb 1:8-9), the eternal One (Ps 102:25-27; Rev 1:8; Heb 1:10-12) yet visiting His creatures in time! Sadly this blessed Messiah was the “Stone” rejected by the builders (Ps 118:22; Mt 21:42-43), and crucified for the sins of the world He made. Yet the once-rejected Messiah is promised to be God’s glorious King (Ps 2:6; Jn 12:12-13; 18:32), soon to be proclaimed Lord of all (Ps 110:1; Mt 22:41-45). At present, the Messiah is a Priest after the order of Melchizedek (Ps 110:4; Heb 6:17-20), interceding for, and tirelessly ministering to, His people on their homeward journey. Yes, “He has done all things well” (Mk 7:37).
