CHRIST the BELIEVER’S CENTER of ATTRACTION: “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” (Rom 8:35). Frederick Edward (F.E.) Marsh (1858-1931) was a great man of God, an avid student of the Word of God, and a prolific author. His whole adult life was given to the warm and careful teaching of the Word, serving for some time in Sunderland, England. He left us with this helpful outline: The direction of the believer’s faith is to cleave to (continue with, abide in close fellowship with) the Lord (Acts 11:23); the direction of the believer’s existence is to live to the Lord (Rom 14:8); the direction of the believer’s thoughts is to bring every one into captivity to the obedience of the Lord (2 Cor 10:5); the direction of the believer’s consecration is to give to the Lord (2 Cor 8:5); the direction of the believer’s ministry is to do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men (Col 3:23) and the direction of the believer’s worship is to consistently make melody in our hearts to the Lord (Eph 5:19; Col 3:16).
