“I have declared my ways, and You answered me; teach me Your statutes. Make me understand the way of Your precepts; so shall I meditate on Your wonderful works” (Ps 119:26-27).
My ways and His way — how eloquent! I try this road — and find it a dead end. What I think is a short-cut leaves me lost. The less I discover of His way, the more alternate ways I try in vain. But, by being honest with Him, when we “have declared” our ways, He is ready to answer us in our need. His “statutes” (Heb., “appointed boundaries”) are the specific road signs and warning markers that will keep us on the right track. His “precepts” are the general guiding principles that give overall direction to our lives. This is heaven’s GPS — God’s Positioning Scriptures. If we co-operate? We will have daily cause to “meditate” (taking time to ponder at our leisure) on God’s wonderful works.
