August 2 Petition Mission

“The children of Israel cried out to the Lord” (Ex 14:10).

There may have been close to 2,500,000 Israelites. This describes their spontaneous prayer meeting as the Egyptian army approached! I don’t imagine it sounded to God the way I hear it when my little grandchildren all clamor for my attention at once, but this helps me imagine the Father’s joy when His people cry out to Him.

Today, from a hundred countries in a thousand tongues, His people are heard in heaven. How many are there? Don’t underestimate this. Enoch, seventh from Adam (Jude 14), Moses, at the start of the nation of Israel (Deut 33:2), Daniel, after the collapse of Judah (Dan 7:10), and John, looking to the end of time (Rev 5:11), all agree: “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints.” “A thousand thousands ministered to Him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him.” “The number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands.” Let’s join in!
