September 23 Petition Mission

“There is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” (1 Tim 2:5). Long before, Job wrote, “For He is not a man, as I am,… Nor is there any mediator between us, who may lay his hand on us both” (9:32-33). But the Great Bridge Builder had already planned it!

In 1502, da Vinci designed a bridge to span the Straits of Bosporus. It was never built; Sultan Bayezid thought it wouldn’t work. But the plans were rediscovered in 1952, and researchers from MIT proved it was viable!

Do we trust God’s bridges? The Word is a bridge, between His mind and ours. The Incarnation was a bridge, between the invisible God and His manifest glory in Christ. His Resurrection is a bridge, between death and endless life. Christ’s Enthronement is a bridge, between redeemed humans and their heavenly home. The indwelling Spirit is a bridge, taking us from salvation to sanctification. And of course prayer is a bridge, opening communication between our hearts and His.
