“Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him…Even so, Amen” (Rev 1:7).
I recall attending a camp in my childhood where they had a weather rock hanging from a chain. The explanation was this: if the rock is dry, weather fair; if it’s wet, precipitation; if the rock is moving, it’s windy; if the rock is missing—a tornado!
On one occasion, the Pharisees and Sadducees asked the Lord to show them a sign from heaven. It was a trick question. He replied, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times” (Mt 16:2-3).
How important in this day for us to be like “the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times” (1 Chron 12:32). Do we speak with authority about sports and politics but are uncertain about God’s revealed plan? Lord, help us speak clearly for You today.
