“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Php 1:3-6).
You can’t help but notice the massive dimensions of the apostle’s prayers. Talk about checking all the boxes! How compassionate: “I thank my God upon EVERY remembrance of you.” What a great example—no limited prayer list; everyone in the Philippi church was on his heart. How consistent: “ALWAYS in EVERY prayer of mine.” Nothing hit-and-miss in his petitions; he prayed for others the way he wanted others to pray for him. How comprehensive: “making request for you ALL.” Here’s a great way to spread the wealth; ask the Lord to enrich everyone you know. And what confidence: every believer can be sure every day that God will move everyone towards the goal of our Christlikeness.
