December 10 Petition Mission

“And now, O Lord, the word which You have spoken concerning Your servant and concerning his house, let it be established forever, and do as You have said. So let it be established, that Your name may be magnified forever” (1 Chron 17:23-24).

Homer Lea (1876–1912) was rejected by the American military for health reasons. When he moved to Los Angeles, he often visited Chinatown and began to see in China an opportunity, somehow becoming a close advisor to Dr. Sun Yat-sen. In 1909, he predicted a war between Japan and the U.S., including the attack on Hawaii, and told how the Japanese would capture Manila. He also saw the rise of Russia against the West. But who listened? If they had, they might not have been surprised by the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Let’s listen to what God says will happen. David laid claim to the Lord’s promises and confidently prayed regarding His Word. God loves such boldness in faith. Listen to His promises, and pray, “Do as You have said…that Your name may be magnified.”
